New Story – Perdition’s Posse

A new Sinner’s Tale is done, and is now up at the Free Story page.

If you’re not familiar with Seth McAllen, also known as “The Sinner”, you might want to track down a couple of the older stories that have appeared here at Mad Poet Files – specifically, “High Moon” and “The Devil’s Due”, available in e-book formats at bn.com or at Amazon.

With this story, I started taking some of the things I’ve been learning about actual US History and weaving them into the Sinner’s old west. There were a ton of changes, of developments that happened in the Old West in and around the end of the Civil War and the years immediately following.

GSG NaNo Gaiden Ep #28

This is the grand finale! The last battle! Your hero is kicking butt! Or is Having His Butt Totally Kicked!

Either way, this is it! FINISH IT!

Day 21, you should be 35,007 words in. And Loving It!

But if you’re not, you can change it. If what you’re writing is boring you, if it seems like a drudgery to write, that will come through. So make it exciting – compelling – emotionally involving!

And that will come through too!

Enjoy!

Cross-posted at Geek Survival Guide. Late, I know, but still up within 24 hours of the last one.

And it’s mid month, and the point is to get them all up and done and your 50,000 words done by the END of the month, right?

A little talk about taking the day off, about how NaNoWriMo is a metaphor for anything great or creative you want to do, and 10,000 hours.

Enjoy!

You should be 15,000 words in. Yeee-haw! You’re now out of act 1, and moving to act 2, where your protagonist should be trying to beat the bad guy, and meeting obstacle after obstacle. He should be falling down on his face. Think, Flash Gordon being hauled off to the executioner… then to the tree stump… then in prison… etc. Sure, he might beat a small obstacle, but that should lead to a bigger obstacle up ahead!

Also, never underestimate the power of good entertainment.

Go read David Farland’s post that I mentioned in the cast, and then go write!
